Brentford FC’s Gtech Community Stadium will serve as a pick-up and drop-off point for fans and the local community for rented, sustainable, pot-grown Christmas trees.
Working with London Christmas Rental Trees, this year the club is encouraging our community to rent real trees as part of our commitment to sustainability.
After Christmas, trees can be dropped off at the same location, which is the car park on the corner of the north west stands, next to the security hub on Lionel Road South.
Renting a tree helps avoid contributing to the 7 million Christmas trees that are chopped down in the UK every year.
Trees can be reserved now for pick-up on 6 December and drop-off on 3 January. Read more about location dates and times.
The club will also use trees from London Christmas Rental Trees in our offices and in entrance C of the Gtech.
Sustainable Christmas choices
London Christmas Rental Trees offers Norway Spurce trees for rental. The traditional tree is commonly used during the festive period. The same tree can be secured for rental the following year.
Millions of trees are chopped down every year. Furthermore, pine needles on trees take a long time to decompose, creating methane which contributes to greenhouse gases.
James Beale, Brentford FC’s head of sustainability and community said: “While Christmas is a time for celebration and giving, unfortunately it can have a negative impact on our environment.
“Real Christmas trees are popular for the festive period, but there’s a more sustainable way to have a tree. We want to make better choices all year round and help our community to do so both in being a fan and in our everyday lives.”
