With International Women’s Day coming up this week on 8 March, Brentford is celebrating women and their role in football during our Premier League match against Fulham at the Gtech Community Stadium.

If you’re joining us for the match, at half-time, you’ll hear from Edie Kelly, first-team goalkeeper for Fulham Women and Amber Lloyd who plays for the Brentford women’s team and is female football development manager at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Don’t forget to pick up a match programme on arrival, which includes interviews with Monique Choudhuri, a non-executive director at Brentford, and Rachel Woods, matchday groundsperson at Fulham.

Ahead of the match, both the Brentford and Fulham men’s teams will be warming up in Her Game Too t-shirts.

Her Game Too is a voluntary organisation ran by female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign to foster an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

A group of young women from the Trust’s female football development programme will also form a guard of honour as both the Brentford and Fulham men’s team players walk out onto the pitch.
