England Under-19 international striker Chuba Akpom has returned to Arsenal at the end of his loan spell.
The 18-year-old joined The Bees on loan from the Premier League title chasers in early January.
He spent a month at Griffin Park and returned to the North London side when his loan expired over the weekend.
Chuba played four games for Brentford and helped The Bees take eight points from those matches.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “It was a pleasure to have Chuba at Brentford for his first loan spell away from his home club.
“He made an immediate impact both in training and in matches and I hope very much that he returns to Arsenal having benefitted from his experience with us.
“The difficult aspect was that he came to us at a time when the team was performing exceptionally well and as such, it was impossible to make unenforced changes.
“This meant Chuba did not perhaps get as many minutes on the pitch as he might have initially expected.
“I would like to thank everyone at Arsenal – particularly Head of Youth Development Liam Brady – for working with us during Chuba’s loan and everyone at Brentford wishes Chuba all the best for the future.”
Chuba has been with Arsenal since he was six-years-old and has progressed through the youth ranks at the North London club.
He made his Premier League debut in September and also played in Arsenal’s Capital One Cup win over West Bromwich Albion later that month, converting a penalty as The Gunners won a shoot-out.
He has represented England at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level.
Chuba scored five goals in 13 Under-17 internationals and has six in 11 Under-19 internationals so far.
He played for Arsenal’s Under-18 side when he was just 15 and has played for The Gunners at both Under-21 and Under-18 level this season.
