As part of a restructuring of the Brentford FC staff, Chris Haslam has been appointed as the new Head of Athletic Performance. The role has been created as part of a restructure of the Medical and Sports Science departments. Chris will take up the role immediately as preparations continue for the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season, which begins in August, and the start of pre-season training next month.

Rasmus Ankersen, Brentford FC Co-Director of Football, said: “As a Head of Performance Chris will be responsible for all aspects of physical performance and sports science as well as the integration of our specialists, both at the First Team level and in the new Elite Development Squad. It is a key role for us going forward and we are really happy to have Chris signed up. Chris knows the Club’s philosophy inside-out and has accepted the responsibility of this role.”

Chris is in his second spell at Brentford, having first joined The Bees in 2010. After a role with the Club’s younger players he was Head of Conditioning from the summer of 2011 until he left to join Wigan Athletic in early 2014. Chris came back to Griffin Park last season, working with the Under-21s, and stepped up to help the First Team last month when Matt Springham left the Club.
