Brentford FC held a second successful event for around 200 supporters at our new home on Saturday but will not be able to hold any more in the coming weeks. Bees fans were able to watch our 3-0 win away at Luton Town from The Legends Lounge on Saturday, 31 October, a week after another event was held for our game at Stoke City. But a change in Government regulations, with hospitality and leisure venues closed from today, Thursday 5 November, means that we cannot host any more events until these restrictions lift, currently planned for the start of December.

More than 1,000 fans registered for an opportunity to watch Brentford’s game at Stoke in socially distanced conditions and we were able to accommodate around 400 over the two events. Groups of fans from the same household enjoyed food and drink while watching Brentford’s games, beamed back live, in The Legends Lounge. They also heard from a Brentford legend and got to have a glimpse of our new home.

The details of Season Ticket and Premium Seat Holders who have already registered their interest for upcoming streaming events have been kept and will be prioritised when further dates are confirmed (subject to availability). Season Ticket Holders who don’t receive emails about the events should email [email protected] to let us know. Should tickets for these events become available to non-Season Ticket Holders, we advise supporters to register their interest online today.

Other plans for the next few weeks have also had to change due to the Government announcement.  The Club was working with local and national authorities to get fans in to our home matches to watch The Bees live but this has been put on hold following the announcement of the new Government restrictions. The Sky Bet Championship fixture schedule will continue with matches shown live on iFollow Brentford or Sky Sports.

We reopened The Bees Store last Friday and planned to have it open all month. The retail service will now revert to home delivery or Click and Collect only. More details will follow in due course. The Club was also in the final stages of planning to invite fans who froze their 2020/21 Season Tickets in for short, socially distanced visits to our new home. This will now, unfortunately, not be taking place in the short term.

Jon Varney, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: “The most important thing for everyone now is the health of the population and to do all we can to protect the NHS and our public services. We’ve been working closely with our Safety Advisory Group and events like our recent screenings demonstrate that we’re ready to manage events when the conditions allow. For the time being we will do what we can with our content and match coverage to bring Bees fans closer to the action while they cannot join us. We will amend our working practices over the coming weeks and make sure our fans are up-to-date while movement is restricted and I hope we can allow at least some of our fans in to cheer on The Bees live in the not too distant future.”
