THE GROUND
Reebok Stadium
Burnden Way
Bolton
BL6 6JW
Bolton Wanderers moved in to the Reebok Stadium in 1997 after leaving their historic Burnden Park home.
The Trotters had been at Burnden Park for 102 years before moving to the 28,723 all-seater stadium.
Away fans are housed in the South Stand and there is room for 5,000.
The usual allocation, however, is around 3,000.
THE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
It is approximately 220 miles from Griffin Park to the Reebok Stadium by road.
Supporters who travel from the south on the M6 will then take the M62 and M61 to junction 6.
When leaving the M61 drivers should turn on to the A6027 to meet Burnden Way.
There is car parking at the stadium and in the nearby industrial areas.
The nearest station is Horwich Parkway, which is next to the stadium.
It is served by Northern trains and First TransPennine Express services and involves changing at Manchester Piccadilly or Preston, which are served by Virgin Trains services from London Euston.
The Supporters’ Association will be running coaches to every game this season – details of times and prices will be announced in due course.
THE FIXTURES
Brentford will play Bolton Wanderers away from home on Saturday October 25.
The Bees then welcome Bolton to Griffin Park on Saturday April 18 for their penultimate home game.
THE RECENT HISTORY
Bolton Wanderers are another of Brentford’s 2014/15 opponents with recent Premier League experience.
The Trotters were in the top flight from 2001/02 to 2011/12, having also been up in 1995/96 and 1997/98, only to come straight back down.
They finished in the top eight four years in a row and were in the UEFA Cup for two seasons during that period.
But in 2011/12 they were relegated.
They started badly, winning three and losing 13 of their first 16 games, and could not recover.
Although The Trotters had a better second half of the season, and lost just one of their last six games, they were relegated by a point after failing to beat Stoke City on the final day of the season.
They could have come back up in 2012/13, missing out on the Play-Offs by a point after drawing their last two games, but they were not close in 2013/14.
The Trotters failed to win until October 6 and were in relegation trouble with one victory from their first 13 games.
They were still in the bottom six in early March but were starting a fine end-of-season run.
Bolton lost only two of their last 16 games, winning eight of them.
They finished the 2013/14 season 14th in League One and will be looking to continue their fine run in to 2014/15.
THE MANAGER
Dougie Freedman has been manager of Bolton Wanderers since October 2012.
The Scotland international striker is best known for his time at Crystal Palace as a player from 1995 to 1997 and then from 2000 to 2008.
He also played for Barnet, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Southend united before retiring in 2010 and moving in to coaching.
He took over as caretaker manager at Crystal Palace in January 2011 and then got the permanent job a few weeks later.
He kept Palace up in 2011 and has almost two years in charge before moving to Bolton.
Freedman came close to getting Bolton up in 2012/13, narrowly missing out on the Play-Offs, and then led them to a mid-table finish in 2013/14.
THE TOP SCORER
Jermaine Beckford scored nine goals in all competitions for Bolton in 2013/14, seven of them in The Championship.
The 30-year-old former Chelsea trainee made his name at Leeds United after joining the Yorkshire club from Wealdstone.
He moved to Everton, Leicester City and Huddersfield Town, on loan, before signing for Bolton last summer.
He played 33 games in The Championship, scoring seven times, and 35 in all competitions, hitting nine in total.
THE KEY MEN
Bolton have already moved to add to their squad ahead of the 2014/15 season.
The Trotters have completed the permanent signings of Liam Feeney, Neil Danns, and Andy Robinson and Liam Trotter – all of whom were on loan with the Lancashire side in 2013/14 – and also added Charlton Athletic central defender Dorian Dervite and young Crystal Palace goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons to their ranks.
Danns played 33 Championship games for Bolton last season, on loan from Leicester City, while Trotter made 16 appearances while on loan from Millwall.
Feeney had a shot spell on loan from Millwall while 21-year-old Robinson was an unused substitute during his time on loan from Southampton.
The Trotters have lost some players, however.
Striker Joe Mason scored six goals in 16 games but has returned to parent club Cardiff City while captain Zat Knight and attacking midfield player Chris Eagles have also left.
Hungarian international Ádám Bogdán played the majority of Championship games in goal while Tim Ream played 42 games in defence, Alex Baptiste featured 39 times and Matt Mills made 32 league appearances.
In midfield former Liverpool man Jay Spearing missed one league game while Brazilian André Moritz scored seven goals in 23 Championship matches.
South Korea international Lee Chung-yong, who played 45 league games last season, is currently at the World Cup, and played in midfield with Sierra Leone international Mo Kamara, who featured 35 times in The Championship.
Bolton will be looking to add more goals and will have to replace Lukas Jutkiewicz, who scored seven goals in 20 games while on loan from Middlesbrough.
