Tickets for Brentford’s pre-season friendly against Scottish Premier League Champions Celtic will go on sale early next month.
The Glasgow side, who reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League this season, will visit Griffin Park on Saturday July 20.
The game will kick off at 3pm, subject to police confirmation, and will be Brentford’s highest profile pre-season match for a number of years.
Mark Devlin, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: “The Club has paid a substantial fee to bring Celtic to Griffin Park and we need to set ticket prices accordingly.
“Pre-season friendlies at Griffin Park in recent years have generally not attracted large crowds.
“Even the games against Fulham, in 2010, and Stoke City, in 2011, attracted crowds – 4,100 and 2,900 respectively – far lower than we would need to break even in this match.
“I hope supporters understand the decisions we have taken for this fixture, the like of which has not been seen at Griffin Park for many years.”
Brentford supporters will be given exclusive use of The Brook Road Stand for the match against Celtic but can buy tickets in all four sides of Griffin Park.
Celtic supporters will be allowed to use the other three sides of Griffin Park – The Bees United Stand, on the Braemar Road side of the ground, The BIAS Stand terrace, at the Ealing Road end of the ground, and The Bill Axbey Stand, on the New Road side of the ground.
Advance ticket prices will be as follows:
Seats £25
Seating Concessions £20
Standing £20
Standing Concessions £15
Concession tickets will be available for those under the age of 18 and those aged 60 and over.
No other concessions will be available.
All tickets will cost £2 more if purchased on the day.
Mark Devlin added: “With the fee paid, a crowd of in excess of 9,000 is required.
“We have already had substantial interest from Celtic supporters and neutrals who want to see the Scottish side.
“Brentford fans will be able to gather at one end of the ground to get behind Uwe Rösler’s side.
“I am sure there will be a great atmosphere at Griffin Park that day and I hope it will be successful from a business point of view.”
Details of when tickets for the match will go on sale will be announced in due course.
