The Bees are back at Bedfont Sports Centre on Sunday as they face Newhaven Ladies in the First Round of the Women’s League Cup in a 3pm kick-off.

Karleigh Osborne’s side will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing exit in the Vitality Women's FA Cup last weekend. Coming up against Newhaven, who ply their trade in the London & South East Regional Women’s Division One South, the First Team will be hoping to send out a statement to the rest of the teams competing in the Women’s League Cup this season.

Speaking ahead of the game, Osborne said: “It’s going to be another challenge for us but ultimately we are focusing on what we can do to win the game, after last weekend we spent time in training working on our shape, making sure we are more of a solid unit.

Head down to support the side at Bedfont on Sunday

“It will be nice for us to have a good cup run, we are always looking to test ourselves and wanting to play against the best teams possible so I am hoping we can make a good start to the League Cup on Sunday.”

Like the Bees, Newhaven are coming off the back of a 5-0 defeat in the Vitality Women's FA Cup, making Sunday’s fixture even more of an interesting spectacle with both teams playing with something to prove.

Our Women's B team are also in action on Sunday as they are set to face Luton Town Ladies Reserves in a Greater London WFL Division One North clash at Stockwood Park Academy in a 2:30pm kick off.

A double from Kasey Clifford and second half strikes from Abigail Clairingbold and Holly Hawkes ensured an empathic 4-0 victory last weekend for the Bees, moving us up to third in the table and with momentum to take into Sunday’s game.

Ahead of the match, B Team Manager, Tommy Ryan-Maynard said: “I’m hoping the girls can follow on from our result last Sunday, they showed plenty of fight and composure in front of goal, I think if we put in a similar performance, we will be on track to get the three points.”
