Brentford will look to pick up their first league win of the season on Sunday as the first team travel to Rectory Park to face Sport London E Benfica in a 2pm kick-off.

The Bees are yet to pick up a win in the London South East Division One North following an opening day defeat to Ashmount Leigh and a draw to Hackney Women.

Brentford put on an impressive display in front of 234 fans at Bedfont Sports Club beating Ruislip Rangers 4-0 in the first qualifying round of the Women’s FA Cup.

The Bees showed their dominance from start to finish as they easily brushed aside tier seven outfit Ruislip Rangers to progress in the competition. First half strikes from Chloe Logie and Ashley Arquette, who scored her first goal for the club, were followed up by two brilliant long-range goals from Ellen Wardlaw ensuring Brentford’s win.

Karleigh Osborne’s side have been given a bye into the third qualifying round, which will take place on Sunday 22 October after the side’s second round opponents dropped out of the competition.

Sport London E Benfica finished sixth in Division One North last season where they played Brentford two times. The two sides shared the points in the first fixture with Brentford picking up an impressive 6-1 victory in the second game.

The B team will play their first game of the season on Sunday as the side face Enfield Town Development at Bedfont Sports Club in a 3pm kick-off.

Tommy Ryan Maynard’s side have had a frustrating few weeks with the B team yet to play a game this season due to fixture cancellations.
