Brentford Women fell to a 3–1 defeat away to Dartford Women at Princes Park Stadium in the London and South East Premier Division on Sunday afternoon.

Carly Williams’ side faced a tough test against a team that had only lost once this season. Despite the result, Brentford worked hard throughout and will look to take lessons from a challenging afternoon against strong opposition.

The Bees were looking to get back to winning ways in the league following defeat to Saltdean United last time out.

The first half began at a high tempo, with both sides showing early intent. Brentford created the game’s first chance when Alissa Down’s free-kick was well saved by the Dartford goalkeeper.

The home side took the lead midway through the half as a dangerous cross from a free-kick into the box caused trouble and at the second time of asking Kayla-Rae Alberts headed over Sophie Boycott into the net.

The lead was doubled quickly after as Lizzie Adams curled in a great strike from distance.

In the second-half, Dartford continued to apply pressure and added a third through a header from Georgie Davis.

On 49 minutes, the west Londoners got themselves on the scoresheet through Renai McCrea who snuck into the box following a great cross, finishing well with her weaker foot.

The home side proved to be too strong for Williams' side on the day as they saw out the remainder of the game to secure the three points.

The Bees are next in action on Sunday 23 November as they take on Dorking Wanderers at Bedfont Sports Club.
