Brentford Women travel to face Bromley Women on Sunday in a crucial Women's League Cup semi-final clash at Hayes Lane on Sunday 1 March (2pm kick-off GMT).

The tie presents the Bees with another opportunity to push for silverware as the season enters the decisive stages.

Sunday’s clash marks the west Londoners’ first opportunity to book a place in a domestic cup final under Carly Williams in her debut season at the helm.

The winner will secure a final berth, while the competition’s other semi-final sees Barking Women host Saltdean United.

Speaking ahead of the tie, attacker Chelsie Berry reflected on the experience of playing at Gtech Community Stadium last time out and the lessons taken from the defeat.

“Playing at the Gtech was an exciting opportunity for me. I have been at Brentford for just over a year now and this was one of the games I had been looking forward to,” she said.

“Obviously I was with the B team last season and when it got announced that we would be playing at the Gtech I was happy and raring to go.

“Everyone within Brentford, whether they were in the squad or out of the squad, the coaching staff and everyone around us wanted to show who we are, and I believe we did that despite the result.

"The Gtech loss does not define our season and we have a lot to play for. Even though the league is not in our hands, all we can do from now until the end of the season is win our games.

"We have to move forward, take the defeat as part of the process and bounce back.”

This Sunday's fixture presents itself as the perfect opportunity to do that.

Last time out

Brentford Women suffered a 2-0 defeat to Saltdean United Women at the Gtech Community Stadium in front of a crowd of 4,346, as the visitors struck in each half in the London and South East Premier Division.

Danielle Lane broke the deadlock midway through the first period with a header, and Georgia Bridges added a second shortly after the restart.

Opportunities fell to Makeba Black, Ashley Cheatley and Chelsie Berry, but the Bees were unable to respond as Saltdean left with three points.
