Brentford Women B won their season opener in the Greater London Women's Football League Division One South 4-0 away at Hounslow CB Abbots on Sunday afternoon.

Returning head coach Tommy Ryan-Maynard oversaw a comfortable victory as Kirsty Matthews and Marta Boabonay both scored braces.

Matthews opened the scoring on three minutes when she finished into the far corner after being slipped in by Shania Foley.

On 42 minutes Brentford made it two after Georgia Wood kept a corner alive on the edge of the box and found Boabonay who slotted home well.

The Bees rounded off an excellent first half in stoppage time when Matthews got her second of the day, firing home a free-kick into the top-left corner.

It was the perfect start to the league season for Ryan-Maynard's side, keeping a clean sheet and adding a fourth goal on 89 minutes as Boabonay latched on to Elsa Lesnard's pass and fired her strike into the net at the near post.
