Brentford made it seven straight wins and remain top of the Greater London Division One North table after a dominant 7-0 victory over Hilltop.

First half strikes from Shania Foley and K-Lah Briscoe were followed up by five second half goals as the Bees were rampant at Bedfont Sports Club.

Tommy Ryan-Maynard played a back three of Orla McComb, Alicia Henry and Larique McPherson-Maraj, with Lillie Elsbury and Briscoe utilised as wing-backs. Freya Morgan, Karen Abou-Abdallah and Laura Miller formed a midfield three whilst Foley and Abi Claringbold led the line.

The Bees wasted no time to get themselves an early goal with the hosts finding themselves 1-0 up in the opening two minutes of the game.

Morgan drove through the Hilltop midfield before playing a great pass through to Foley whose first touch was perfect. The forward ran onto the ball before flicking her shot confidently around the opposition’s keeper.

Brentford were playing some great football and Briscoe, who was making her first start for the Bees look a real threat on the right flank.

The wing-back linked up with Foley and showed her pace as she ran forward with the ball into the Hilltop box, her shot on goal proved comfortable for the keeper though.

Briscoe did eventually make it 2-0 to the home side just before the half-hour mark after a brilliantly placed volley found the bottom corner, as she claimed her first goal in Brentford colours.

Similar to the opening half the Bees made an electric start to the second half with Foley coming close to grabbing her second of the game only for her shot from a tight angle finding the side netting.

On 55 minutes Foley turned provider as the forward played a perfect pass into the path of Cheyenne Faulkner who was able to tap the ball home inside the six-yard box.

On the hour mark Morgan made it 4-0 to Brentford, the attacking midfielder picked up the ball on the halfway line and finished off her mazy run which saw her dribble past four Hilltop players in superb style.

The Bees were playing with unbelievable confidence and thought they had made it five when Nia Bowman attempted to chip the Hilltop keeper.

Bowman was unbelievably unfortunate in her effort with her shot clipping the bar before bouncing on the line.

The away side was under lots of pressure and spent the majority of the second half defending as Brentford continued to throw numbers forward.

Ryan-Maynard was able to give valuable minutes to his full squad in a game which allowed the home side to further increase their goal difference.

It was only a matter of time before Kasey Clifford got involved in the goal-scoring action, and the midfielder continued her rich run of form in front of goal with an excellent volleyed finish following a Holly Hawkes corner.

The hosts managed to score two more before the full-time whistle was blown with Faulkner grabbing her second of the game after finding herself in behind the Hilltop defence and slotted the ball home in neat fashion.

Claringbold then scored a deserved goal after running through the Hilltop defence and beating the keeper at her near post.

Charlotte Tanner wants more from her side

Despite the score line, assistant head coach Charlotte Tanner feels Brentford Women B still have more to offer.
