Brentford Women B extended their lead at the top of the Greater London Division One South with an emphatic 5-0 home victory over South London Reserves on Sunday.

Paula Holguin scored a first-half brace, whilst Marta Boabonay, Kirsty Matthews and Ava Slade all got on the scoresheet to round off an excellent victory.

The Bees were looking to bounce back after their first defeat of the season last time out, and started in strong fashion when Baobonay poked the ball to Holguin after pinball from a corner, and the latter finished confidently to make it 1-0 on 17 minutes.

Boabonay then added to her impressive tally for the season when Holguin turned provider with an excellent split pass that was dispatched with aplomb by the Equatorial Guinea international.

Just before half-time, the west Londoners had a third when Holguin nodded home Freya Morgan's attempt at goal to put them in cruise control at the break.

On 56 minutes, it was four - Emmi Tong did well to stop South London from playing out and Slade hit a first-time effort from 25 yards into the top corner for the pick of the bunch.

Remmi Gardner set up the final goal of the game to round off a five-star performance from Brentford as Matthews finished at the back post on 86 minutes.

An excellent reaction from Tommy Ryan-Maynard's side, who have now won seven of their eight league games this season.
