Brentford Women midfielder Asees Sangha has been awarded Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s Professional Footballers Association Community Champion award for 2025/26.
Sangha starred in her first season in women’s football after coming through the ranks at the Trust’s Emerging Talent Centre (ETC), scoring 11 goals and registering five assists en route to the Player of the Year award.
The 17-year-old featured 29 times for Carly Williams’ side as the Bees finished their first season in tier five in third position in the table.
BFCCST head of communications and marketing Jack Cavilla praised Sangha for her efforts on and off the pitch last season.
“Having come through the ranks of the Trust’s Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) it is amazing to see Asees playing so well for Brentford Women,” he said.
“Throughout the 2025/26 season, Asees has been a fantastic ambassador for the club and Trust, giving back to the community and spending time with players across our Girls’ Football Pathways.
“To be named PFA Community Champion is an award that Asees thoroughly deserves and we look forward to seeing her continue to inspire the next generation of girls playing football in west London.”
Sangha was presented the award at a recent ETC training session at Gunnersbury Park and reflected on her own journey through the junior ranks.
“I started just like all of these girls," she said. "The minute I turned 16, Chelsey [Logan] was asking ‘Do you want to trial for the women’s team?’
“Carly came in as the new coach and it’s been a nice, smooth journey. Brentford’s had such a growth mindset with me and I’ve always seen that my development has been at the heart of it, so that’s really nice.”
When asked about the award, Sangha acknowledged her dedication across the campaign and highlighted the growing participation numbers in west London.
“It feels amazing, I did not expect to get this many awards in my first season, so it’s surreal. It shows how much hard work pays off and it’s nice to see when it does pay off,” she said.
“Brentford as a club has obviously become so much bigger now and women’s football is definitely growing so much. Just to see the numbers that are at training every time I come, it’s quite amazing to see.”
