Brentford earned their place in the semi-final of the Capital Cup with a late Chloe Logie strike against Woking on Sunday.

The Bees had to be patient with chances hard to come by for the majority of the match, and a late strike from Logie sealed the victory for Karleigh Osborne’s side who booked their place in the final four of the Capital Cup with the win.

Brentford wasted no time to put pressure on the Woking back line with the hosts close to scoring inside the first minute after Logie found herself in behind the vistors' defence.

The forward drove with the ball into the box before unleashing a powerful strike which was saved well by Amy Jenkins.

Despite all of Brentford’s dominance early on Woking were defending with discipline and managed to keep the Bees out for a large chunk of the opening half.

The visitors had very few chances on the Brentford goal as the side struggled to work the ball into the final third. Woking’s best chance of the game came just after the half hour mark when Trudy Bryan-Keer tried to curl the ball into the right corner from the left side of the box, but her shot went just wide of the post.

Brentford did well to remain calm as they continued to attempt to pick apart the Woking back line, but the away side managed to see out the Brentford pressure as the teams went into the break goalless.

Similar to the first half, there were times in the second half where the game proved to be quite flat as Brentford aimed to be more creative in the final third.

On 62 minutes the Bees had two golden chance to get themselves ahead. The first came when Nikki Woods worked her way into the box before finding Logie with her cross but the striker's shot was blocked well by a Woking defender.

The resulting corner was crossed in by Woods with her delivery landing on the foot of Graver whose effort from point-blank range went inches wide.

Graver was proving to be a threat from set-pieces with Woking struggling to deal with her aerial threat, especially from corners.

The defender rose well from Brentford’s next corner but was unable to get over her header as her attempt flew over.

Witek was called into action for Brentford on 78 minutes where she made a world-class save to keep the scoreline level.

A deep free-kick found Ellie Boddy who flicked the ball towards the bottom corner only for Witek to reach down and save the ball showing great reactions.

It took 82 minutes but Brentford were finally rewarded for their patience as the side broke the deadlock through top scorer Chloe Logie.

Substitute Lucy Bolitho found space inside the Woking box before firing a shot towards goal, the strike was initially saved by the Woking keeper with the rebound falling to Cottrell who put it in the path of Logie to tap home.

The away side came close to getting an equaliser two minutes before full-time when Charlotte Keenan struck from distance with her shot glancing the bar before going over.
