Griffin Park was in full festive swing earlier this month as dozens of special guests were welcomed to the OAP Christmas Luncheon in The Hive at Griffin Park.

The event, on Thursday December 11, entertained members of Age UK, the over 50s club as well as guests from the Community Sports Trust's Extra Time club.

The pensioners were treated to Christmas lunch and an afternoon of entertainment.

Sponsors GlaxoSmithKline, Reliable Networks, Bees United, Hees, Ebstone Kitchens and the Brentford FC Business Club contributed to the costs of the event.

And all attendees left with a Brentford FC goody bag, presented by Father Christmas, Buzz Bee and Buzzette.

Brentford FC Commercial Manager and event organiser Mike Sullivan said, "It was nice to see so many of our local residents come together to enjoy a Christmas celebration.

"The Club is delighted to be able to support this event and we hope to have helped make it as special as possible.

"We have had great support from local companies and many of our match day sponsors and guests have also contributed.

"They made donations to cover the costs of the food and all the OAPs are leaving with a goody bag full of groceries.

“Paul Fisher, of Reliable Networks, was here helping out and I would like to thank him for the part he played in the day’s events.

“Everyone at Brentford FC knows what an important part we play in the community and this is just one way we see that in action.”
