Brentford's Premier League fixture against Manchester United has been rearranged. The game was due to take place on Tuesday 14 December but was postponed by the Premier League Board. It will now take place on Wednesday 19 January and will kick-off at 8pm. It will be live on BT Sport. Fans should note that this date is subject to neither side needing to play a rearranged Emirates FA Cup tie the same week.

The game was postponed due to the exceptional circumstances of an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak within the Manchester United squad. The original match was Sold Out. All match tickets from the initial postponed fixture and Season Ticket cards remain valid for the rescheduled date. The Ticket Exchange is now open for Season Ticket Holders who wish to list their tickets for this match. Further details, including when the Ticket Exchange will open for purchases, will follow in due course.

This match was among many fixture changes announced by the Premier League this morning. Four matches have been scheduled for 18 and 19 January and the Arsenal v Burnley fixture has been moved due to a rearranged Carabao Cup tie. A full list of the fixture changes can be seen on the Premier League website here.

The teams met in an entertaining pre-season friendly in July. The game finished 2-2 with The Bees coming from behind twice thanks to goals from Shandon Baptiste and Bryan Mbeumo. The sides have not met in a competitive game since United won a League Cup tie in 1975.

The last league matches between the teams were in Division One in 1946/47. United won at Old Trafford and drew at Griffin Park and have been victorious in four of the last five games between the teams. Brentford did win five of the six matches between the sides before that.
