Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has stressed that Crystal Palace still have plenty of quality in their ranks, despite Wilfried Zaha’s absence.

Palace boss Patrick Vieira revealed that the forward, who has six goals and two assists this season, is out of Saturday’s game at the Gtech Community Stadium with a hamstring injury.

And despite admitting that Palace will miss their captain, Frank underlined the other options that Vieira has at his disposal.

“It's like talking about [Manchester] City with or without [Erling] Haaland; Arsenal, [Bukayo] Saka, for example; Liverpool, [Mohamed] Salah; us without Ivan Toney. There’s always key players in every team," he said.

“Even I can’t get around it and say, ‘No, they are equally as good, with or without Zaha’; that would not be the truth. Of course, Zaha is a top player for them.

“But, when other players are coming in, dynamics are changing a little bit, other players are stepping up and there are other things we need to be aware of.

“[Michael] Olise, [Eberechi] Eze and Zaha - I know Zaha isn’t playing - are three top individual players.

"They have other individual players in [Jean-Philippe] Mateta, [Jordan] Ayew and [Odsonne] Edouard up front. It’s a very strong attack.

“I know, I’ve read their recent results, they maybe haven’t scored as much as they would have liked to. But they have huge individual qualities.”

Brentford will need to keep those players at bay if they are to extend their 10-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

The Bees have the sixth-best home record in the division, having only lost one game at the Gtech Community Stadium all season to second-placed Arsenal in September.

Frank called on the Brentford fans to help the team to another win this weekend.

“It’s about us, it’s about what we can do in the next game, and tomorrow it’s Crystal Palace," he concluded.

“We know at home, at the Gtech, with our fans in the back - they’ve been amazing and I hope they can keep pushing us over the line - we need to do it together with them.

“I say that all the time and I mean it - it needs to be us and the fans together, and hopefully that will be enough to get three points against Crystal Palace.”
