Our Under-18s will begin their FA Youth Cup campaign on Friday 9 December when they travel to face Aston Villa in a 7pm kick-off at Villa Park.
The Under-18s will enter at the Third Round stage as they come up against Villa, who compete in the Under-18 Premier League. Friday’s opponents will be aiming for a fifth Youth Cup title, having beaten Liverpool in the 2021 final.
About Brentford’s Under-18s
Our Under-18 team was founded at the start of the 2022/23 season after the Club was granted Category Four Academy status.
They compete in the South East Youth Alliance League which is a regional division where they play against other Category Three and Four opponents. The side has close links with the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust with many of the players coming through the education programmes run by the Trust whilst the staff are also part of the setup. So far this season the team have played 14 league matches and are tenth in the division following three wins so far.
Eddie Keen has been working within the Under-18 setup this season and he explains the make up of the group ahead of the clash with Aston Villa.
