The players joined the Learning Zone’s after-school club, which helps around 80 children benefit from 100 hours of learning each year. The excited pupils played table-tennis with the players and were supported with their maths homework.

Theo, who also plays for Scotland’s Under 21s, said: “It’s nice for the kids to be able to socialise outside a school environment. Activities at the Learning Zone can help the children discover their hidden talents and develop skills that can be used in all walks of life.”

Jan Novak, agreed: “It is really important that children have opportunities like this – the children were so kind and smart.”

The Griffin Park Learning Zone, which is situated within the heart of Brentford’s stadium, is a vibrant hub of learning and innovation. It has received widespread recognition for its education projects: most notably, it runs a journalism project for local children with learning difficulties.
