Lachlan Brook scored a stunning goal on Friday night but ended up on the losing side, as Newport County came from behind to beat Crewe Alexandra at the Mornflake Stadium.
Brook collected a pass just outside the box, before turning and slamming the bouncing ball home to put the Railwaymen in front after 13 minutes.
However, two second-half goals turned things around to hand Crewe just a second defeat in six Sky Bet League Two matches.
Crewe sit 15th ahead of their visit from league leaders, Leyton Orient, on Saturday.

Paris Maghoma put in a Man of the Match performance for AFC Wimbledon to help them beat Grimsby Town 1-0 at the weekend. The only goal came on the hour, Ethan Chislett the scorer at Plough Lane. Nathan Young-Coombes wasn’t involved for a Dons side who are now just four points outside the Play-Offs ahead of their weekend trip to Swindon Town.
Ellery Balcombe kept a second successive clean sheet to help Crawley Town beat Swindon Town 2-0 at Broadfield Stadium. The goals came late in Sussex, with former Bee Nick Tsaroulla and Jack Powell netting in the final 11 minutes for Matthew Etherington’s side. Crawley are now seven points clear of the relegation zone, looking ahead to a home game against Hartlepool United on Friday night.

Myles Peart-Harris won the penalty which helped Forest Green Rovers move off the foot of the table with victory over Cambridge United. There was plenty of late drama at The New Lawn with Cambridge netting an 89th-minute equalizer through Saikou Janneh, which cancelled out Josh March’s early effort.

Peart-Harris was then brought down in the area three minutes into added time. Rovers defender Corey O’Keeffe was sent off as Cambridge protested, but Conor Wickham kept his composure to score from the spot.
Forest Green are now just three points from safety with a derby visit from Cheltenham Town on Saturday up next.
Daniel Oyegoke wasn’t in the matchday squad as MK Dons salvaged a late point at home to Burton Albion. Victor Adeboyejo’s first-half penalty looked to be extending MK’s winless league run to four games until Bradley Johnson’s 84th-minute equalizer at Stadium:MK. MK host fellow strugglers Fleetwood Town on Saturday, with five points between them and safety.
The Sky Bet Championship returns this weekend with Fin Stevens and Swansea City hosting Norwich City, Tariqe Fosu’s Stoke City at home to Cardiff City, and Halil Dervişoğlu’s table-topping Burnley away at QPR.
The Dutch second-tier also returns with Joel Valencia’s De Graafshap at home to FC Eindhoven on Sunday. Mads Bech and OGC Nice face SK Sturm Graz on Wednesday in a friendly ahead of their return to competitive action later this month.
