Brentford Griffins, formed as part of the Youth Alliance partnership between Brentford's Academy and West Thames College, picked up six points over the half-term week following wins over Wealdstone and Luton Town.

Having beaten Wealdstone 3-1 last Wednesday thanks to a brace from Noah Amissah and a George Ademiluyi goal The Griffins travelled to high-flying Luton Town on Friday.

Christie Pattison put Brentford on their way to a fourth win in five matches and victory was wrapped up as Noah Amissah added a second.

The result moves The Griffins up to sixth in the London and South East Division on the Football Conference Youth Alliance.

Speaking after the two victories Alliance manager Dan Wright said: "It was a really pleasing week for the Griffins, with two great results and steady performances.

"The Wealdstone game I felt we were the better team in the first half and going in 3-0 up at half time was proof of that.

"The second half was not as pleasing to watch, but credit to the boys as they saw the game out and the result never looked in danger despite their penalty.

"It was good to see Noah scoring again, he's very confident at the moment and can't wait for the next game which is a great mindset to be in.

"I thought George took his goal really well and for a right back to score 3 goals in 11 games from open play shows how much energy he has to get up and down.

"The Luton game we knew was going to be tough.

"They are extremely well organised and structured, everyone knows their job and we struggled to break them down earlier in the season.

"To start it was scrappy and we couldn't control the ball or the tempo of the game.

"As it went on, the back four became more dominant and that allowed us to get up the pitch.

"I thought Christie Pattison was superb and led the line really well, he got his reward in the second half with his goal and it was throughly deserved.

"The result shows how the group have matured, to ride the second half pressure and in the last minute double are lead was particularly pleasing."

As well as the good news of picking up six points in a week the Youth Alliance partnership have also been boosted in recent days by the news that Terence Vancooten has been invited to train with Brentford's Academy.

Terence joins Noah Amissah and Tyler D'Cruz in spending time with Brentford's Academy during their spell with the Youth Alliance.

Both The Griffins and the other Youth Alliance team, the Brentford Bees, have seen their games this afternoon postponed but the pair should return to action next week.

The Griffins take on Fulham (Merton) next Wednesday at Raynes Park Vale FC while The Bees host Oxford City at Osterley Sports Club.
