A delighted Tristan Crama was pleased to see his header prove the difference as he helped the B team into the final of the Premier League Cup on Thursday evening.

The young Bees sealed the win over Fulham with the help of an Alex Gilbert first half strike, and they will now face Blackburn Rovers Under-21s in the final of the competition. The Frenchman, who was pleased to welcome his family over from France for the semi-final was proud to score the goal to help the side into the final.

Following the match, he said: “We’re really delighted and really proud. It’s been a good season for us, and we’ve worked hard so it’s unbelievable for the team and we’re looking forward to the final.

“We scored early in the game, scored another and then conceded late. After that we knew we cannot lose, and everyone gave everything and I’m really proud of everyone.

“I felt before the corner that I could score. My family are here and it’s the first time they have come to watch a game in England. I wanted to score and I’m really happy and proud. It’s a special moment for me, I’m happy for them as they’ve come over and seen me score to get to the final.”

The Bees had to defend resolutely as they came up against a talented Fulham side, and Crama felt it was a fantastic team performance which gave them the victory to set up the final with Blackburn. The Bees also welcomed Kristoffer Ajer into the team as he built important minutes which helped the side to the win.

He continued: “Everyone, not only the keeper or the defenders, the whole team were so good defensively. It helped a lot (having Ajer); you could see for the first goal his power helped us to score early. It’s easy to play alongside a guy like him.

“We’ve played them (Blackburn) twice, they won once and we won once. It’s a final so we’re going to work really hard for that game.”
