Brentford B were left to rue a number of missed opportunities as League Two champions Stockport County scored late on to get a 3-3 draw at home.

Iwan Morgan, Ryan Trevitt and Kyreece Lisbie were on the scoresheet for the Bees, while Tawanda Maswanhise scored all three of his side's goals including the decisive one in second-half stoppage-time.

After a good performance in the last game against Brighton Under-21s, Neil MacFarlane’s side were looking to get a positive result in this affair.

It was a nervous start from the Bees as Tawanda Maswanhise with his first strike on goal gave his side the lead inside the first minute of the game.

Brentford settled quickly and levelled the scoreline two minutes later through Iwan Morgan. The striker latched on to a lofted pass, volleying into the net.

MacFarlane’s side remained the side in control as Morgan and Ryan Trevitt had efforts on goal which could have given Brentford the lead.

The Bees’ deserved lead came midway through the first period though as a fine team move resulted in Benjamin Fredrick playing a great cross into Trevitt who swept home from just inside the box.

Trevitt was involved in most of Brentford's good work and he went close from distance hitting the crossbar with a half volley.

Against the run of play, the home side levelled and Maswanhise got his brace, darting into the box and finishing past Vincent Angelini.

The Bees’ first attack of the second period put them ahead and it was Lisbie who composed himself well to finish between the legs of the Stockport keeper.

It should have been four as Brentford were in full control. A good team move which started on the left saw Tony Yogane skip past his man and feed Morgan, but the striker steered his first-time shot agonisingly wide.

The young Bees had the chance to extend the scoreline as Yogane did well to draw a foul in the box and win a penalty. Trevitt stepped up to take it, but goalkeeper Scott Maloney went the right way to make the save.

Another chance went begging for Brentford as Urinboev played a great pass into Ethan Laidlaw, but the second-half substitute could not hit the target.

The missed chances were punished by the home side as Maswanhise pounced on a mistake at the back to turn the ball into the net.

That was how the game would end as the Bees have to settle for a draw.
