We are pleased to announce the signing of Riley Owen on a one-year contract with a club option of one additional year.

Owen will link up with Neil MacFarlane’s B team for the 2023/24 season following a successful trial period with the Bees this summer.

The midfielder came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur where he went on to feature for their under-18 side in North London. He registered 23 appearances for Spurs in the Under-18 Premier League last season, scoring three goals and making one assist.

He also featured for Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League as he made one appearance against French side Olympique de Marseille.

The Englishman has regularly featured for the young Bees over the course of pre-season in the centre of midfield after departing Tottenham at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Discussing adding Riley to his squad for the new season, Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “At 17 years of age Riley has shown real quality during his time with us. In training and in games he’s shown that he’s somebody that really wants to get on the ball and shows a lot of courage in that respect.

“We feel that he can be really beneficial to our group moving forward and we can improve him with the defensive aspects of his game. He handles the ball brilliantly in the middle of the pitch. He will look to build up the play and continue to try and make things happen no matter how a game is going. He’s a player we’re really happy to add to the group.”
