Looking back

Neil MacFarlane’s side have featured in two behind-closed-doors fixtures since returning from Spain, a 2-2 draw with Gillingham Under-21s and a 2-1 loss to Reading Under-21s.

The clash with Reading saw new signing Mukhammadali Urinboev play his first minutes in a Brentford shirt, the midfielder enjoying an impactful 60 minutes on the pitch.

The game also welcomed the return of Nathan Young-Coombes from an ankle injury, the striker featuring for the first time since November 2023.

About Hitchin Town

Hitchin Town come into Tuesday’s clash 17th in the Southern Premier Division Central table with 10 wins, four draws and 17 losses.

It’s been a tough start to 2024 for the Canaries, who are yet to win a game across all competitions, with two draws and nine losses from their 11 games.

Their earlier season form, particularly at home, was strong - Hitchin winning eight of their first 13 games on their own patch across all competitions.
