Brentford B will return to Wheatsheaf Park for the first time since 30 March when they welcome Brighton Under-21s to west London for a friendly (7pm kick-off).

The game will kick-start a busy period of fixtures for Neil MacFarlane’s side, who will face Stockport County next Tuesday, followed by a clash with Bray Wanderers on 30 April.

The game comes after the young Bees’ recent trip to Portugal, the team undergoing some hot weather training as the end of the season draws near.

About Brighton U21s

Brighton U21s come into Friday night’s clash sitting 11th in the Premier League 2 table with eight wins, four draws and seven losses.

It’s been an up and down start to 2024 for Brighton, with the young Seagulls winning three games, drawing two and losing four - their last time out a 3-0 loss to Reading.

With seven games to play the young Seagulls are in a good position to equal or better their 11 wins from last season, which saw them finish sixth in the PL2 table.

Last time out

It was a high-scoring affair for Brentford last time out, the young Bees falling to Ipswich Town U21s 5-3 in a behind-closed-doors fixture.

Ashley Hay, Nathan Young-Coombes and Kyreece Lisbie each found the back of the net in the first half for the young Bees as they went into the break at 3-3.

Two second-half goals ensured Ipswich took the win, despite some good chances for MacFarlane’s side.
