The fixture offers the young Bees another opportunity to face off against senior opposition following the side’s recent fixture against Stockport County.

About Bray Wanderers

Playing in the League of Ireland First Division, Bray Wanderers currently sit third in the table. The side have played 12 times, winning five, drawing three and losing four.

The Seagulls are poised to make the play-offs which will see second place take on fifth, before third and fourth place face off. The winners of those games then play each other.

The winner from the play-offs will take on the team second from bottom in the League of Ireland Premier Division with the victorious side earning a place in the Irish top division.

Conor McManus faces old club

Brentford B full-back Conor McManus will come up against his former side and the youngster is relishing the contest.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to it, it will be nice to see some old faces and go back to where I grew up playing.

“My family and friends will be in attendance so it will be a special day for me and I know it will be a good challenge for us.”

McManus went on to talk about his time at Bray and his pathway to the first team where he was picked up by Brentford.

He continued: “I joined Bray’s sister club Cabinteely at around five years old and played for them up until around 17 when I eventually progressed onto Bray’s Under-19s side before moving on to the first team.

“It was a great experience for me to be only 17 and playing men’s football was really important for my development. One thing about Bray is that they will always back their younger players and I benefited from that massively.”

Last time out

Brentford B conceded late on to draw against Sky Bet League Two Champions Stockport County at Edgeley Park.

Neil MacFarlane’s side were left disappointed following a number of missed opportunities as Stockport scored a late goal to get a 3-3 draw at home.

It was a positive performance from the young Bees who fought back from an early goal to take a 2-1 lead following strikes from Iwan Morgan and Ryan Trevitt.

Against the run of play Stockport levelled just before the break as the side’s went into half-time level at 2-2.

Kyreece Lisbie put Brentford back in front, but despite an array of chances for the visiting side to put the game to bed Stockport snatched a stoppage-time equaliser.
