Alex Gilbert notched the first before two Aaron Pressley goals earned the win, whilst Charley Kendall netted a penalty for the away side.

The young Bees names a strong side with three of Thomas Frank’s First Team earning minutes at Jersey Road in Luke Daniels, Dom Thompson and Saman Ghoddos.

A lengthy stoppage in play after just seven minutes saw Pressley and Franklin Domi receive treatment after they clashed heads whilst trying to clear from a Brentford ball into the QPR box which meant neither side were able to dominate in the opening stages.

On 14 minutes the young Bees created the first chance of the match when good interplay from Ghoddos saw him square the ball to Gilbert, who shifted on to his left, before firing an effort goalwards which Liam Kelly pushed over.

A few minutes later Brentford B then managed to keep an attack alive following a QPR clearance and Fin Stevens floated a cross in from the right, which was controlled well by the Trialist, before he fired over.

The good Brentford start then paid off on 20 minutes when the relentless press forced the QPR keeper into a mistake as Gilbert dispossessed him before tapping home from a few yards out to make it 1-0.

Chances were few for the opponents, but after falling behind they began to see more of the ball as the half wore on. One of their better moments came when Stephen Duke-McKenna received the ball with his back to goal, before turning well and firing a powerful effort which was well blocked by the Brentford back line.

Dillon De Silva then worked another good opening before the half was out when he drove inside from the right before hitting a left footed effort just over Luke Daniels’ goal as the first half finished 1-0 to the hosts.

Ghoddos was the first person to have an attempt in the second period when eight minutes after the restart the ball fell to Max Haygarth, whose curled effort was blocked into his path, before he hooked an effort into the arms of Kelly.

The second goal came just before the hour mark when Gilbert was found by the Brentford Trialist and he tricked his way in from the left before crossing for Pressley to head home low into the bottom right corner.

QPR managed to pull a goal back on 73 minutes as they pushed to get back into the game as when Tristan Crama was adjudged to have fouled in the box before Kendall stepped up to make it 2-1, sending Daniels the wrong way and finding the bottom left-hand corner.

The same man had the chance to draw level just moments later when a QPR attack was sustained and the ball fell kindly to him before his powerful half volley was well saved by Daniels at his near post.

Despite the pressure from the away side, it would be the young Bees who would find the game’s final goal when Pressley got his second of the afternoon after being slid in down the right by one of the Trialists before he fired an effort home high into the near post with his right foot to make it 3-1 as Brentford B claimed the win at Jersey Road.
