The Bees stormed out of the blocks in the first half and a header from Audrius Laucys and a well taken goal by Seika Jatta gave them a 2-0 half time lead, and they played well enough for it to have been many more.

A calamitous own goal by Laucys midway through the second half gave the Russians half a sniff of stealing a point but the Under-15 side held on to earn a well deserved victory.

Brentford started the game quickly and in the opening minute Jatta raced through the middle, he was first to the bouncing ball and headed goalwards before being caught late by the keeper - the referee waved play on as the ball was cleared off the line.

The Bees did take the lead after six minutes when Tom Field whipped in a dangerous corner which Laucys headed superbly home.

Brentford's only problems were of their own making - Daniel Webster lost possession after a quick pass out by goalkeeper Jake Lewis but the CSKA Moscow striker fired the ball wide off the far post.

Jatta had an effort which just sailed over the bar before Herson Rodiguez Alves tested the keeper with a volley which was saved low down.

Brentford doubled their lead when Jatta raced onto a loose ball and, as the keeper came to narrow the angle, the young Bees striker clinically fired home.

Laucys nearly doubled his tally when he got onto the end of an excellent free kick by Field but the effort flew inches over the bar.

The Bees ended the half on a high when Courtney Senior created space for himself and drilled an effort which the keeper could only parry away from danger.

The Bees continued to dominate possession in the second half, without creating any clear cut chances.

Midway through the second half CSKA were given a way back into the game.

Lithuanian international centre back Laucys passed the ball back towards substitute goalkeeper Jordan Carey - the keeper took a swipe but missed the ball completely and it ended up in the back of the net.

This set up a nervous final 12 minutes and the lead nearly vanished when CSKA Moscow drilled a powerful free kick which had Carey beaten but struck the inside of the post and rebounded to safety.

It was the luck The Bees had deserved after dominating large portions of the game and the whistle went soon after to ensure Brentford's Under-15 side made it two wins from two in the prestigious youth tournament.

Danny Buck was delighted with his side's performance and victory.

"We started the game very well, completely dominated the first half but if we had been more clinical we could have put the game to bed," said the Head Coach.

"We started well again in the second half and up until the own goal, we were in complete control.

"After that the game became scrappy and we started to drop to CSKA Moscow's level.

"The players need to learn how to see a game out better but with that we continued to create chances, look dangerous on the break and eventually saw the game out.

"The players in the main played very well today and again played in a manner fitting with the Brentford philosophy.

"We now need to work hard off the pitch, watch the game, study the statistics and go through the positives and negatives with the players ready for a tough game tomorrow."
