Jack Bonham kept his fourth Sky Bet League Two clean sheet of the season on Saturday as Carlisle United swept aside Yeovil Town at Brunton Park. Danny Grainger opened the scoring for The Cumbrians with an unstoppable long-range effort before Hallam Hope made it two on the stroke of half-time, sweeping home after a flowing move down the right from the hosts. Yeovil’s cause was not helped late on as Bevis Mugabi was sent off after a coming together inside the area: Grainger converting from 12 yards for his second. Shaun Miller made the trip back to the South West feel that bit longer for Glovers fans as he added a fourth in injury-time with a close-range finish as Keith Curle’s side rise to 14th in Sky Bet League Two, four points off the Play-Offs.

Tom Field played 45 minutes as Bradford City suffered a shock home defeat at the hands of struggling Plymouth Argyle on Saturday. The visitors, who went into the game bottom, stunned their high-flying hosts with a Jake Jervis goal ten minutes before the interval. Tom with substituted at half-time with The Bantams throwing men forwards but the visitors held on to record the win that moves them off the bottom and see Bradford remain in fourth place in Sky Bet League One.

In the National League, Zain Westbrooke impressed in vain as Leyton Orient were beaten 2-1 at Ebbsfleet United on Saturday evening. The hosts struck twice before the break through Andy Drury and Danny Kedwell with Orient’s reply coming in the dying minutes: James Dayton the man to get it. Defeat means Orient slip to 19th, just three points above the drop zone, ahead of next weekend’s visit from top-of-the-table Dover Athletic.
