Much of that increase comes in the shape of 444, 520, and 568 mile round-trips respectively to the relegated trio of Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland. After more than 2,500 Bees fans made the trip to Newcastle United last season, Dean Smith's side are sure to be cheered on in the North East by big numbers again as the club heads to the Stadium of Light for the first time.

As well as those long trips up the M1 to Humberside and the North East, Bees fans will also clock up more than 400 miles visiting Bolton Wanderers, who secured an instant return to the second-tier last month, Leeds United and Preston North End.

At the other end of the scale, Millwall’s promotion from Sky Bet League One means there will be three London derbies to look forward to next season with just 26 miles separating Griffin Park and The New Den. The shortest trip will once again be the nine miles to Loftus Road, the scene of last season’s unforgettable Friday night win, closely followed by the 11-mile journey to Craven Cottage.
