With the government restricting all but essential movement across the UK, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust have launched the #BeeatHome campaign that encourages children and adults to stay active within their homes. The Trust aims to deliver educational and physical activity content to children and young people in the local area while simultaneously urging people to stay at home to help save lives.

To launch the campaign, our lead female football coach, Amber Lloyd, delivered a Soccercise session to help young people stay active in their homes. The video of this can be viewed below.

Speaking about young people staying active, Amber said: “It is massively important to stay active during these times, which will help with your concentration when learning! We have produced some videos that can be done on your own or with your family members, adding a bit of healthy competition.”

The Trust will also be streaming live fitness, yoga and Pilates classes to local residents in Hounslow. The first Pilate sessions will be held next Tuesday at 6pm. Along with physical activity sessions, the Trust will deliver engaging educational content, including weekly Maths and English challenges.

Lee Doyle, Chief Executive of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, said: “Our commitment to local communities remains steadfast. We will be innovative in how we can create a positive difference in the most challenging of times. We are working closely with local stakeholders to support those most in need while reiterating the government’s message of staying at home to save lives.”

With the Trust already working with a number of vulnerable young people, online resources will be available to support young people’s wellbeing and mental health while in isolation. To access all online material, please follow the Trust's YouTube channel here or visit brentfordfccst.com.
