In March, Brentford finally got back on a win streak. Four wins from four games gave Head Coach Kevin O'Connor something to look back on with pride for the third month of 2018, with just two to go until the end of the season.
Barnet U23 came to Jersey Road for a rematch of their game that saw them lose 3-2 at home on Alan Judge's comeback. That day, the Irishman scored a penalty durng his first game back in over a year and a half. This game, he scored another one.
The two Bees sides exchanged just a single goal each in the first 45 minutes, Theo Archibald netting on behalf of O'Connor's team. Then the second half kicked it up a notch. Judge scored his penalty to make the scores 2-2, then Marcus Forss and Reece Cole added goals to push Brentford ahead. Ali Coote scored a fifth on the rebound from a Chiedozie Ogbene shot, then Barnet mounted a comeback. Once again, just like the game at The Hive, two goals weren't enough to salvage the game.
Brentford B took off for Scotland in mid-March with two games played against Kelty Hearts and Rangers FC. The Kelty game finished with a 4-0 win for Brentford B in a behind closed doors environment in snowy conditions.
The Rangers game saw The Bees go all out and beat a side that included several First Team players from the Scottish giants, including former Bee Lee Hodson and club captain Lee Wallace. Marcus Forss scored after only four minutes, latching on to a pass from Bradly Clayton and tucking home his shot.
Then Reece Cole scored an audacious free-kick that involved Zain Westbrooke setting the ball up for him to volley into the top corner. Clayton added a third from the penalty spot before half-time to seal a great result away from home.
The Bees returned to Griffin Park to play Manchester United on 20 March, with former Bee Josh Bohui starting for The Red Devils. It started with a bizarre own goal from Jaakko Oksanen as he fired a backpass towards his trialist keeper.
Ali Coote rescued things for the B Team just before half-time after Bradley Clayton headed a long pass from Reece Cole back into his path. In the second half, Marcus Forss and Cole himself added the other two as United struggled to cope with the pressing game of O'Connor's Bees. The match also saw young Swedish winger Henrik Johansson return to action after a year out with a muscle injury.
The final game in March was the first visit of Chelsea to Brentford's training ground. First Team players Alan Judge and Chiedozie Ogbene scored as well as Reece Cole making it four in four for him.
Judge's goal was overshadowed by an injury to the Blues' keeper who fell awkwardly on his arm and dislocated his shoulder. After an eight-minute stoppage, Nicolas Tíe received applause from the gathered fans as he was stretchered from the field.
Despite a strong attack that included Eden Hazard's brother Kylian, the away side couldn't manage to find away past Luke Daniels in the Brentford goal.
