On Saturday, October 19, during Brentford’s Sky Bet League One match against Colchester United, a flare was set off in the BIAS Terrace, at the Ealing Road end of the ground.

As a result of CCTV evidence obtained from the Brentford FC Operator and with the assistance of stewards, a 14-year-old male was identified and arrested for possession of a firework/flare at a sporting event.

The male has been subsequently charged with this offence and is due to attend West London Youth Court on October 29.

Brentford Football Club has banned the individual from Griffin Park until the end of 2013.

The Club would like to remind supporters that bringing flares in to Griffin Park is a very dangerous action which puts the safety of the holder of the flare and those around them at risk.

This is the second time a supporter has been banned from Griffin Park for doing so and the Metropolitan Police have also acted against supporters caught with flares in the away end.

Anyone caught with a flare at Griffin Park will be ejected from the ground and face a banning order.
