Andy Gogia scored the first goal as Brentford won 2-0 against Premier League opposition.
It was the Georgian-born winger’s first match at Griffin Park after signing in the summer from German club Hallescher FC.
“I and the team enjoyed the game,” said Andy. “For me it was the first game and the supporters were really great [to me].”
Gogia, who has played for Germany at Youth International level, praised the level of performance from his team mates.
“In both halves we played very good football,” said Andy. “The first ten minutes was a little bit difficult but then we came into the game, we played really well."
Stoke City won 6-0 at Wrexham in midweek but cam unstuck against a Brentford team that matched them in every department.
“We’re not at the same level [as Stoke],” said Andy. “But we have a lot of good players in the team, and squad, but if we stay at the same level in training we can make a big step up this season.
