The Republic lost their opening Nations League game 4-1 to Wales in Cardiff last month meaning the pressure is already on to get results if the Boys in Green wish to avoid relegation to League C.

First to visit The Aviva Stadium will be Henrik Dalsgaard's Denmark on Saturday 13 October, kick-off 7.45pm, before Chris Mepham and Wales make the short trip across the Irish Sea three days later.

Having waited more than 80 years for two Brentford players to face each other in a senior international, a run which was ended when Denmark hosted Wales last month, Alan's call-up means that Bees players could go head-to-head with each other at international level twice in 72 hours and for the third time in five weeks.

Alan has won five caps in total for his nation, with his only goal so far being the late winner against the USA back in June. He has also made 11 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship and Carabao Cup, four of them from the start, for Dean Smith's Bees this term, netting his first club goal since February 2016 against Arsenal last Wednesday.
