Brentford Under-18s beat Bristol City Under-18s 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at the Robins' High Performance Centre.

McDermott's side scored two stoppage-time goals to turn the game on its head and make it three wins from three league games in September.

Connor Wolfheimer made the first save of the day on five minutes when Daniel Ezendu broke well on the transition but the Brentford keeper stood strong to block with his legs.

Coran Madden had the ball in the back of the net for the Bees seconds later, taking the ball round Freddie Godden superbly, but was denied by a marginal offside decision.

That didn't dishearten McDermott's side though; on eight minutes they scored an immaculate, fast-flowing team goal.

Nate Ogungbemi broke the line in midfield with a ball into captain Yerime Ouattara, whose first time pass set Madden free on the left. The winger also crossed off of one touch and Domeiro Bobb-Semple rounded off the move with an instinctive finish.

Bobb-Semple then almost had a second on 14 minutes after he was slipped in behind by Josh Zetter-Plummer but saw his strike sting the palms of Godden.

Josh Oladapo-Gamu's header was cleared in the six-yard box, Beau Redknapp's strike hit the side netting and Naeem Giscombe's clever turn and effort was saved as the young Bees ramped up the pressure whilst playing some scintillating football.

For all their dominance though, the west Londoners were the team to concede next when Giscombe misjudged the timing of his tackle in the penalty area and Robins captain Harry Hogg rolled home from 12 yards to level the game.

The momentum shifted and the home side came back into the game, almost taking the lead when Hogg volleyed just wide.

Brentford weathered a tricky period and began to dominate once again, taking the lead in stoppage time.

Giscombe carried on his glittering start to the 2025/26 campaign, beating two defenders on the right and tucking a precise finish into the bottom corner to score his seventh league goal and give McDermott's side the advantage at the break.

That lead was short-lived; within the first minute of the restart, half-time substitute Devonte Ferguson made an instant impact, curling his strike off the post and then tucking home the rebound to level things up.

The game was turned completely on its head on 52 minutes as Daniel Ezendu picked out the top corner from his free-kick on the edge of the box to make it 3-2 to the Robins.

Bobb-Semple had a goal ruled out for offside and fired over from close range as the Bees looked to get back into the fixture.

Jovan Kasujja replaced Jai Bansoodeb and almost found an instant equaliser when his left footed strike bounced unluckily off the bottom of the post.

Wolfheimer made an incredible double save with five to play to give the Bees a chance at rescuing a point.

Gooden then made a strong diving save from Bobb-Semple's effort towards the bottom left corner on 90 minutes and it looked like it wasn't to be for McDermott's side.

Then, in the first minute of time added on, Kasujja was the quickest to react to a rebound inside the area and he fired home to make it 3-3 at the death.

With seconds left on the clock, the referee pointed to the spot for the second time in the game and awarded the young Bees a penalty on 95 minutes.

Bobb-Semple was calm as you like to convert the seventh goal of the game in a thriller that made it three league wins in three in September.
