The new EFL season will get underway on Saturday 4 August with the Premier League campaign beginning a week later. The First Round of EFL Cup fixtures will take place a week later than usual, with fixtures being played between the second and third weekends of the season in August.
The current schedule includes four fixtures over the Christmas period with games played to be played on Saturday 22 December, Wednesday 26 December, Saturday 29 December, and Tuesday 1 January. The FA Cup Third Round retains its traditional spot the following weekend.
The final round of EFL games will be played over the weekend of 4-5 May, a week before the Premier League finale. The FA Cup Final will take place on Saturday 18 May with the EFL season culminating in the three Wembley Play-Off finals, beginning with the Sky Bet League Two showpiece, on 25, 26, and 27 May 2019.
